A terrific container plant!
Black Bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra) will grow to an average height of 25" in most climates but can reach 40" in ideal conditions. A prolific grower, the canes emerge as green shoots maturing to a purplish-black color after 2 years. Black Bamboo is an ideal plant for containers, keeping it smaller but requires root trimming every few years. Like partial shade and moist, well drained soil. 10" pot.
